Because I am from Pennsylvania, actually about 20 miles north of Philadelphia, whenever I think of mountains, my first thought is the Poconos. Growing up, I sometimes would refer to Poconos weather as being very cold in the morning - about 40 degrees, get hot doing the day - about 75 - 80 degrees and then dropping down again when the sun sets.
On this ride, we have gone through the mountains of Montana, "The Big Sky Country." Yesterday, I put on my long sleeve, turtle neck Harley Davidson thermal top. Boy did I need it. Jim said that the elevation was 5500 which higher than Denver, Colorado.
